We all have the right to be safe and respected at University and in all aspects of our lives.

All staff at UQ are required to complete Respect at UQ for Staff: Creating Safer Communities for Everyone training on an annual basis.

The module will take approximately 60 minutes and can be completed via workday.

If you have concerns about the impact of completing the module on your wellbeing you can request a deferral or a modified version of the module by submitting a Respect at UQ Training Adjustment Request. You can also access support through the Safer Communities Service or via EAP.

It is important that we all understand how we can contribute to a culture of consent and respect, and how we can best support someone who has experienced gender-based violence

The content of the Respect at UQ for Staff module has been developed with input from subject matter specialists, along with staff and students, and is designed to give members of the UQ community safe, practical information about:
•    understanding and recognising gender-based violence
•    understanding healthy relationships and consent
•    knowing how to safely intervene when witnessing gender-based violence
•    knowing how to respond to disclosures of gender-based violence
