How to become a Campaign Advocate

Everyone has a role to play in the prevention of sexual violence and harassment in society, at our university and in our workplaces. We are seeking passionate students, staff, and community members to elevate the For Crying Out Loud campaign to help us reach our diverse and vast student cohorts across UQ’s many campuses.

If you are a student wanting to get involved with this campaign, you will be able to access volunteer opportunities through the Health Promotion Ambassadors Program within UQ’s Get Involved Program. To sign up to the Get Involved Program, please follow the instructions detailed at the following link: https://life.uq.edu.au/get-involved. You will be able to apply for the Health Promotion Ambassadors Program after you have signed up to the Get Involved Program. Volunteer hours completed in this program will count toward the UQ Employability Award for registered students.

If you are a staff member interested in supporting the For Crying Out Loud campaign in your workplace, classrooms, or offices, there are three main ways you can get involved:
1.    Participate: Sign the pledge, download the campaign resource, contact the team, share campaign material, and attend our events!
2.    Embed the campaign in your workplace, lectures and tutorials.
3.    Learn and engage in the website content and training to learn more about LGBTQIA+ sexual violence prevention and how you can contribute to prevention in your space/s.
